Cris has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 5 years old, spending her childhood surrounded by animals and enjoying time on her grandparents’ farm with horses, cattle, and baby chicks. She graduated in veterinary medicine in Brazil and worked in the bovine industry before moving to Canada in 2016.
After earning her Social Service Work diploma with honours, a frustrating experience accessing care for her Golden Retriever, Summer, inspired Cris to pursue her DVM license in Canada. She is passionate about making veterinary care more accessible for pets and their families to make sure that no one has to go through what she did.
With a strong interest in ultrasound imaging and diagnostics. Cris is always eager to grow her skills to improve patient care. She shares her life with her husband, daughter, 2 dogs and 2 cats—and often hears her husband say, “No more animals in this house!”
